Limitations

The following limitations are imposed if you choose to install the SpotifyPlus Card.

• A Spotify Premium level membership is recommended in order to fully control the Spotify Player (e.g. pause, resume, volume changes, etc) as well as retrieve player queue info.

• A Spotify Free level membership comes with limitations when controlling the Spotify Player. How severe the limitations are depends on if you have configured the SpotifyPlus Integration Spotify Web Player Authentication Credentials.

  Limitations if the Spotify Web Player Authentication Credentials is configured:

  • The Seek, Previous Track, and Shuffle media controls are disabled.
  • The Repeat media control is limited to context or off values (no single track repeat).
  • Items cannot be added to the Player Queue.
  • Player Queue cannot be displayed.
  • Can start play of tracks / context items (e.g. playlists, albums, artists, etc).

  Limitations if the Spotify Web Player Authentication Credentials is NOT configured:

  • You must basically control play from a Spotify Application (e.g. mobile, desktop, web).
  • All player media controls are disabled: Pause, Resume, Next Track, Previous Track, Shuffle, Repeat, Volume up / down / mute.
  • Items cannot be added to the Player Queue.
  • Player Queue cannot be displayed.
  • Cannot start play of tracks / context items (e.g. playlists, albums, artists, etc).
