Say e.g. you look at the phenotype "Brain atrophy":
https://neurogenomics-ukdri.dsi.ic.ac.uk/phenotype?jump=HP%3A0012444&db_type=DescartesHuman

This is associated with many genes... and numerous cell types, including "excitatory neurons" and "oligodendrocytes"

We should add a way to visualise, which genes are more associated with each of the associated cell types.

One way to do this would be to add (within the cell associations) plot, a heatmap, showing the specificity of each gene, in each of the associated cell types

  • An issue with this is that some phenotypes have thousands of genes associated
  • So we could then allow selecting to show those genes which are most specific to a certain associated cell type
  • Or plots of the 10 most specific genes could pop up then you expand a particular celltype association

Visualise gene associations of a cell, but only include genes which are also associated with the phenotype.
