Summary of changes

Changes introduced in this pull request:

  • upgrade rust toolchain to 1.85.0
  • fix new cargo clippy warnings
  • Rust 2024 upgrade is tracked in Rust language edition 2024 #5327
  • Cargo resolver version 3 upgrade cannot be made yet until all CI lint tools support it.
