Contributing to First-Generation Student Resources

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the First-Generation Student Resources repository! We appreciate your help in making this a valuable resource for first-gen students.

How to Contribute

  1. To add a new resource or update an existing one, please create a new issue using the appropriate issue template:

  2. Fill out all required fields in the issue template.

  3. Submit the issue for review.

  4. I will review your submission and, if approved, add it to the README.

Guidelines for Submissions

  • Ensure the resource is specifically relevant to first-generation college students.
  • Verify that the information you're providing is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Include a brief description of the resource and how it benefits first-gen students.
  • Provide a direct link to the resource's official website or application page.

What We're Looking For

We welcome resources in various categories, including but not limited to:

  • Scholarships and financial aid
  • Mentorship programs
  • Academic support services
  • Career development opportunities
  • Mental health and wellness resources
  • Community building and networking initiatives
