I tried to install syncthing for mac on two machines. One runs macos Ventura 13.7.1 (22H221) the other Sonoma. I had the same problem on both of them:
I choose "start" from the tray icon and I get a red icon telling me that the service is unavailable:
Every five seconds or so the icon flashes to green and orange and then reverts to red:
The browser also indicates that the service is not running:
I am using the latest version of Syncthing:

What does the logfile say? Logfile written to ~/Library/Application Support/Syncthing/syncthing.log, use Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder to open it.

Sorry, something went wrong.
I was able to get it running. The logs told me that the migration failed that meant that I had a very old version of Syncthing installed on my system.
Thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction!
Maybe there could be a button in the UI somewhere that said "Open Logs".
