Mages study, even if they get no new tasks.
For Diplomacy options one has to click each turn, otherwise it's a problem.

A fix to this could go both to this and mainline.

Seems diplomacy works different because one get's the bonus directly, not next round. Nevertheless…

I don't know that this is actually a problem, it seems that it is intentional in mainline that either you do your diplomacy or recruit, at least until you get a university within (leader_movement)/2 range, which seems to have been a balancing choice made by Bob_the_Mighty, the original author

Having it be automated at the start of you turn would not necessarily affect balance and allow you to both recruit and research during the same turn. You’d still have to move to end/begin your turn of a university, so…

But yeah, having the bonus immediately is another issue. There are also diplomatic options that are not linked to recruitment (giving gold or tech to other players).

@sevu, how would you imagine an auto-diplomacy? You set a diplomatic target, and unless you do a special action you gain a point in that direction at the start of next turn?
