We need to sync up all these different projects and implementations:

mburns/rackspace_monitoring-cookbook#1 (comment) (MAAS folks)
https://github.com/rackspace-cookbooks/rackspace_cloudmonitoring (US DevOps rewrite from above)
https://github.com/rackspace-cookbooks/rackspace_cloud_monitoring (UK DevOps original as library)

The first one is being worked on again, revived, and they're interested in collaboration (see the linked comment).
