UCSD's Autoware Deployment

• UCSD team was able to successfully install and test Autoware on AWSIM on a x86 computer in 1-2 days
• Issue with launching Eagleye package: the fix2pose package is no longer in the current version of Autoware. it has been replaced and split into two other packages:
  • eagleye twist fusion filter
  • eagleye geo pose fusion
• The team will try an older version of Autoware to run eagleye
• The team is looking into editing vehicle configurations for gokart, especially the control parameters

RoboRacer Sim Racing League @ ICRA

• The 3rd RoboRacer Sim competition has been announced. Organized by Clemson University.

• Current timeline:
  • Feb 20, 2025 Registration Opens
  • Apr 15, 2025 Registration Closes
  • Apr 16, 2025 Online Orientation
  • May 03–04, 2025 Qualification Round
  • May 05, 2025 Qualification Results Declared
  • May 08, 2025 Competition Track Released
  • May 10–11, 2025 Final Race
  • May 12, 2025 Competition Results Declared
• Competition format:
  • Qualification Race: 10 laps around the practice track without colliding with the track bounds
  • Time-Attack Race: Teams will compete against the clock, on a previously unseen racetrack
  • No head-to-head race yet
• Some teams may present their approach/results in a short (~10 min) presentation in a special session at ICRA 2025
• Autoware can potentially form teams to participate in the competition. Do we want to split into multiple Autoware teams for different approaches? Needs a confirmation from Rahul about our participation.

Off-road ODD

• We are experimenting with various simulators for off-road vehicles and preparing a demo
  • NVIDIA Isaac Sim
  • Algoryx: support deformable terrain
  • BeanNG
• Clemson University could not open source their Roboracer model. We created a low poly 3D model of Roboracer ourselves. Currently rigging the model and integrating it into the simulators
  Roboracer modeled in blender
  
  Roboracer ported to IsaacSim along with Jetracer
