Bugs

Evolution X 9.7 - 2024-12-26

What's New?

There's nothing really new in this release. If you're on 2024-12-25, you can keep using it, unless you want to experience these fixes. I'm tired from all these releases, so this is the last one for 2024. See you again in 2025.

• Prevent Xiaomi FOD from crashing the system – resolves #106
• Fix offline charger – resolves #60
• Fix network traffic indicator for some devices with older kernels (now even on SELinux enforcing kernels) – if it doesn't work, read this: #79 (comment)

Evolution X 10.2 - 2025-01-18

What's New?

I'll keep daily driving A14, so I'll keep releasing A14 builds (alongside A15) for the foreseeable future. I'll prioritize A14 issues over A15 issues. Evolution X is doing a slow but steady process of implementing A14 features in A15 builds. Not everything is there yet, however a lot of it is.

Evolution X 9.7 - 2024-12-22

What's New?

EDIT: Bluetooth (and FOD?) may not be working for everyone. Expect a new build within a couple of days. Make sure to test every build in DSU Sideloader before flashing it permanently.

The Evolution X team is making good progress towards actually releasing A15 with all the features, however it's still not quite ready. I tried fixing the fingerprint issue, but didn't have much success, however I am willing to release both A14 and A15 if Evolution X will be ready by January.

ROM

• Synced with latest December version of Evolution X.
• Manually reapplied final Android 14 TrebleDroid patches (some devices might start/stop booting with this release, more likely to start booting).
• Backported some TrebleDroid patches from Android 15.
• Added additional Bluetooth patches.

Evolution X 10.0 (Alpha, EOL) - 2024-11-19

What's New?

TLDR: I still recommend most people to use A14.

This is an alpha release. This build hasn't been tested as I've had some complications (I've tested previous builds). This time it should not be considered stable for most people.

IMPORTANT!

Yeah, that's a disappointment. Evolver is almost half empty, a lot of the features and apps are gone... and I can't do much about it. Android 15 is still early for Evolution X team and it seems like they've rushed Android 15 instead of trying to polish things before release. Don't blame me. LineageOS 22 (and consequently Evolution X 10.0) sources are still not ready, I don't know what they rushed.

Android 15 is for now EOL for me, I will go back to maintaining A14. This is a one-time courtesy build of A15. I will not release any more A15 builds until 2025.

• Samsung Galaxy A53 5G users might experience some weird fingerprint behavior from me trying to fix it. Fingerprint still won't work. I do not care enough to rebuild it. I might add a KSU module to fix it in the future.

Evolution X 9.5 (Beta) - 2024-10-28

What's New?

This is a beta release. Beware that not everything was properly tested beforehand, however it should be stable enough for most people. OTA will not be updated.

IMPORTANT!

LineageOS has been changing the SEPolicy, meaning that some devices might not boot anymore due to conflicts. I've already mitigated one of the commits. If your device doesn't boot this release anymore after booting the previous stable, open an issue and I'll make sure to include an appropriate patch.

Evolution X 9.5 - 2024-10-12

What's New?

Yesterday's image was pulled due to issues with Play Integrity (Android superuser was unintentionally included). This image was tested and has working DEVICE verdict by default. Sorry for the inconveniences.

Important: Next release will remove bootloader spoofing patches by chiteroman due to an outdated keybox. You will have to use TrickyStore or BootloaderSpoofer from that release onwards.

ROM

• Fixed exFAT SD card support on kernels without native exFAT support (Samsung & Sony Linux kernels lower than 5.4) - #17
• Implement Quick Settings clock padding settings - #40

Added in previous beta release, left unchanged since:

• Added Face Unlock.
• Readded Gemini app for Circle to search to function properly (if dirty flashing, you may need to update the Google app through Play Store, enable Google apps spoofing in Evolver and restart your device for it to function properly; not available on slim builds).
• Fixed overlays.
