Intent

We want to offer builders an opportunity to win grant funding by giving them a way to submit proposals for consideration. By the end of F14, we want the proposals proceeding to a vote to be equal or greater than the F13 baseline in Ideascale.

Description

Users with the registered Proposer role can start a new proposal from either the Workspace or Discovery Space. In F14, a category must first be selected in order to begin a new proposal draft. All drafts are stored locally by default, until user takes manual action to either “Share” or “Finalize”, which saves a document iteration to the backend. Shared drafts are open for feedback in the discovery space, while Final proposals are marked as ready to proceed to voting.

Outcome

Proposers can easily create, edit, and publish proposals in order to collect feedback, refine ideas, and submit for funding. There is no disruption of service to our users with the migration away from Ideascale.

Value Delivery

  • As proposer, chase my entrepreneurial dreams by competing for grant funding
  • As proposer, manage proposal complexity with in-app writing tools
  • As voter, prioritize my attention by knowing which proposals are seeking feedback
  • As brand admin, accelerate ecosystem innovation by crowdsourcing ideas
  • As brand admin, grow my pool of high-quality proposals by making it easy to submit ideas for funding
