I often found myself in situations where I thought having a stackable beam/a vertical size centered on a block would be useful for free standing columns/pillars, ruins and the like.
Describe the solution you'd like
One block I think would be very useful for columns/pillars and other decorative structures would be a copycat beam that can be stacked (aka pretty much: a vertical slice that is centered on a block, instead of placed in one of the 4 corners). Right clicking it with the same block would then progressively increase its width from a slice to a full block.
In addition, the same feature could be added for steps/horizontal slices, I suppose, though probably that'd have less applications than the vertical one.
Another stackable block I think would be useful for more detailed decorations would be something like the stackable byte layer that was added with the last update, but centered on a block instead of being placeable in one of the 4 corners. Adding the same block would then progressively increase its height from being a flat layer to the full block height of a normal beam. It could be useful for adding details on roofs/poles and just adding texture to floors and paths overall, or even to add stone/metal elements to wooden logs in builds, the way people often use buttons for decoration, but being stackable and thus more customizable.
