Vertical slabs cannot be attached to glass panes

This is because its not a solid block. Only reason the other mods slabs can is they are likely marking it as a full block or something.
And imo it doesnt look right for the vertical slabs to connect to the panes as they are a few pixels out from each other.

You can also use copycat flat panes to achieve the same effect here
