Team Win Recovery Project

TeamWIn
Note: Flash at your own risk. This Build still not considered as stable, and still in the process of testing.

Build Device: golf2
Build Alt. Name: RMX3491/RMX3493
Build Date: 01/20/2023
Build Release: Unofficial Beta
Build Branch: 12.1 (v3.7.0)
Compatibility: Android 11/12 (RUI2/3 Firmware)

Release Notes

  • Decryption will now work even if lockscreen is enabled. If the recovery ask you for your PIN/Pattern, just enter whatever your lockscreen was.
  • Decryption now works in Generic System Image (GSI), but not yet tested in all GSI build.
  • Backing up is working fine, but Restoring a backup sometimes causes a bootloop. (...check the workaround below.)
  • Backup and Restore in GSI aren't tested.
  • When doing factory reset, it is much better to format using stock recovery.

Workinf Features

  • Decryption (...read the notes above.)
  • Flashing .img/zip
  • Vibration/Haptic
  • ADB Sideload and Terminal/Console
  • MTP Enable/Disable
  • FastbootD (userspace)
  • External Storage (Micro SD and USB OTG)

Issues/Bugs

  • Backup/Restore (...read the notes above.)

How to Flash

  • Download the image file below.

  • Boot your device in bootloader/fastboot.

  • Using Platform Tools (adb/fastboot commandline), type:
    fastboot flash recovery path/to/your/twrp-image-name.img
    fastboot reboot recovery

  • From TWRP, flash again the image file, to make it permanent:
Install > Install Image > Locate your downloaded twrp-image-name.img
Select Recovery > Swipe to Flash

  • If you already have existing Custom Recovery installed, and you just wanna try this TWRP.

  • Just download the .zip file and flash it either via Install button or ADB Sideload.

Backup and Restore Workaround

  • When doing backup/restore, only check Data and Boot (other small partitions too), but not System nor any of the Dynamic/Super Partitions.
  • It is also recommended to Reboot to System once after formatting the data, then flash back your custom recovery—then you can now Restore your Backup.

Credits

  • TeamWin (Source)
  • Mikhael, Preetham, Oracle, Crazy, Tarek (Tester, from TG)
  • Satham-Hussain·M (for pointing out some wrong flags, from TG)
  • Ikiru (Backup/Restore workaround).

What's New

  • Added /splash partition in twrp.flags with flashimg=1; for end-user to flash their own modified splash image without the need of magisk.
  • Device Tree cleanup.
