Route53?

Is this required? We have our own DNS system we use but are having a hard time getting it and this part of the terraform script to talk together. Isn't there a way to do this without having to use Route53?

Create a public hosted zone in Route53; Terraform will automatically manage DNS entries in this zone. A registered domain name is needed to pair with the Route53 hosted zone. You can use Route53 to register a new domain or use Route53 to manage an existing domain.
