Description

This is a Vanilla SP duplicate of Issue#4134, including Server Logs.

I am also using immersive mouse mode, which I initially thought might be the issue. I have not seen other duplicates mentioning this setting.

This is not the first time this has happened, and every time it did, it happened seemingly at random. (When my inventory is full, I sometimes can't be bothered to check if the items in my Hotbar can be stacked and trust the game logic to do it for me. At time of creation, I am however unsure whether this always leads to the bug or not... Will update!)

When I had this bug in the past, it sometimes seemed like items re-appeared after a while. This is what I tried to test in the logs at 20:42, just before I came here. I thus managed to make another item disappear.

  • Newly picked-up items can also be voided this way
  • restarting the SP world fixes the issue
  • (although the client audit and server audit logs report the same entries as before, I think...?)

To verify Hotbar fullness at the time of the incident, I restarted the world. (The attached logs are strictly from before then.)
Additionally, I activated Error Reporter, Extended Debug Info and VAO Dispose Debug. I have saved both sets of logs separately, so please reach out to me if you could use those latter logs as well!

I hope this can be of further help!
King Regards, and thank you for all your amazing work! :)

How to reproduce

  1. Full Inventory (Hotbar-fullness does not seem to matter, at least for me)
  2. Shift-Alt-click item(s) from Hotbar
  3. Item disappears (The slot is now apparently empty, as left-clicking it does not yield the item, and newly picked-up items are slotted there)
  • Newly picked-up items can also be voided this way
  • restarting the SP world fixes the issue

for completeness' sake I should also say that I am running VS on 16GB of RAM, out of which 13,6 are currently used. (I usually have my browser open with a handful of tabs). I have next to no info about RAM management, but I noticed that my idling RAM had reduced from ~3,5 to ~2.6 after playing, so I guess it might be that my Memory Management cuts down memory usage sometime in the interceding hours.
I will try to give an update on this, but I am afraid to subject you to bias, as this is only one datum compared to a reported incidence of 4(+?).

The issue occured at 20:39, and I willingly re-created it at 20:42 with a rock I picked up.
