Typollama ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Data Collection and Usage

What We Collect

  • Configuration Data: Your settings and preferences for the Extension
  • Temporary Text Processing: Text you choose to process using the Extension
  • API Keys: If provided for third-party services (stored locally)

How We Use Data

  • Text processing is performed only when explicitly triggered by user action
  • No data is permanently stored or transmitted except to your chosen AI provider
  • Configuration settings are stored locally in your browser

Data Transmission

  • When using OpenAI: Text is transmitted to OpenAI's servers
  • When using Ollama/LM Studio: Text is processed locally or on your specified server
  • No data is sent to our servers or stored by us

Data Storage

  • Settings are stored locally using Chrome's Storage API
  • API keys are stored securely using Chrome's protected storage
  • No user content or processed text is permanently stored

Third-Party Services

The Extension can integrate with:

  • OpenAI API
  • Ollama
  • LM Studio
  • DeepSeek
  • Mistral
  • Perplexity
  • Google's Generative Language API
  • Anthropic's Claude API

These services are used to process text based on user settings.

Each service has its own privacy policy and terms of service.

User Rights and Choices

  • All data storage is local and under user control
  • Users can clear all stored data through Chrome's extension settings
  • Users can choose which AI provider to use

Security

  • All communication with OpenAI uses HTTPS encryption
  • API keys are stored securely using Chrome's built-in security
  • No tracking or analytics are implemented

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be posted here and in the extension documentation.
