No matter how I tune these parameters , the effect of top faces of 3D reconstructed object seems bad ! It seems that the model performs better if setting smaller or bigger padding ratio . But it still a cracked hole in the top surface of my input object. Any ways to slove that?
It is the effect associated with the camera angle towards to the object ?
Most input images seem in a Top-down viewing angle.

These are great observations -- 1) tweaking the pading ratio indeed help improve reconstruction sometimes; 2) when the elevation angle is small, the uncertainty of the reconstruction becomes higher and can sometimes lead to hollow reconstruction. This is a known artifact, and we may be able to address this in the near future.
