We need to simplify the approach Christian took for N in Oslofjorden, then extend it to include P, SS and TOC.
Most plants only report TOTN and TOTP, so we'll need to agree on a classification system for different types of anlegg and assume typical sub-fractions of N and P for each class. We'll also need to use some standard/idealised relationships to convert reported BOF and KOF to TOC.
Two possible classification systems previously discussed and available in MDir's database are the NACE-Code (see e.g. here, here and here) and the Anleggsaktivitet (the latter being a system used internally by Miljødirektoratet/Statsforvalteren):
We also need to decide how far to sub-divide each nutrient at the point where they enter the stream. TEOTIL will ultimately only consider DIN, TON, TDP, TPP, TOC and SS, but we could initially estimate more detailed subdivisions for the inputs from point sources. We may not be able to use all this information in the model, but doing things this ways gives more flexibility, since it should be straightforward to aggregate/summarise the detailed data later, if necessary. See also Christian's e-mail from 21.03.2022 at 13.13.
For industry, the main contact at MDir is Glenn Storbråten; for wastewater treatment, it's Rita Vigdis Hansen.
