Android Auto appears to crash when tapping + Connect a car

I believe I have everything setup correctly, but when I tap the + Connect a car button Android Auto abruptly closes (I'm assuming its a crash). This is the case for both cars I have access to, and have previously used Android Auto with my phone's original OS. I read online some people had success with enabling the Unknown sources checkbox in the Android Auto developer settings, but I get the same result.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If it's a crash, it should display a crash notification since we always display them for Google Play and Android Auto.

Hmm, then it isn't a crash, but a close. After tapping it the screen goes black and then I get tossed back to the Android Auto Play Application Sandbox screen. Next time I'm in my car I'll try to get a screen recording.
