When plotting the output files I get the following snow and surface height:
In theory, HW1 and HW2 should be un-modified sonic ranger distance, and should not get below zero.
Since they do in the files, then it means that some unwanted adjustment has been applied in the aws_qc.pro script.
Could we re-run the script without that adjustment?

I'm not sure how to interpret these do they update HW1 and HW2 or do they convert the HW into HS?
It seems also that there is a different between the year-specific '15_c.dat' files in the output folder and the concatenated file '15c.dat'. 15c.dat has the unwanted adjustements mentioned above and also have data only until 2003 (vs 2005 for the yearly files). On the other hand the yearly files have discontinuities at new year (see 2001-2002 and 2003-2004 below):
So I'm tempted to use the yearly files but I am not sure what is happening on 1st Jan.
